AIS call timelineGANGWAY ONLY
What the AIS reports show for one call, line by line: end of sea passage (first report inside the port's approaches), the pilot boarding place passed, anchored at the named anchorage, under way from it, a pilot boat alongside (worded as the inference it is), all fast at the named terminal (first report lying still alongside), shifts and departure. Each line gives the report's time, the bracket the real moment lies in, the place by name, the source and a confidence. Gaps in reception are listed plainly and the waiting time and the time alongside are given. A track is drawn only from sources whose positions may be passed on. A record of the AIS reports, not a finding: notice of readiness, laytime and demurrage are for the parties to count. format=html gives a printable report (print it to PDF).
